Ixtapa: a hidden gem!!
- We're soon to embark on our 30th year to Ixtapa/Zihuatanejo where we live for four months in a condo we bought three years ago. The area is 2,000 miles from our home and we've driven it about 12 times, the last was two years ago. We'll fly this year but will be driving again next year. In all these years, we've not encountered one problem. Of course we don't frequent the "danger zones" any more than we would anywhere in the US. If you're not into drugs and the drug trade (as we're not), relax and enjoy yourself. It's a beautiful country, the people are friendly and helpful and the food is absolutely outstanding. By the way: stay away from the "gringo" restaurants, mingle with the locals and enjoy the local food (and drink). If you go to have a good time, follow the common sense rules just as you would in your own community, you'll have a great time!

Ixtapa: a hidden gem!!
- We had not been to Ixtapa-Zihuatanejo for a few years. Returned in January to find perfect weather, fabulous food and friendly people! Can't wait to return.

Distances
- If you're planning to visit different cities, find out the distances between them beforehand. It might be more than you'd think, and if you're traveling by bus, you may end up spending A LOT of time sitting on the bus.
