Xcaret Park:
Xcaret is an ecological/archaeological theme park located on the Mayan Riviera. Xcaret is a popular attraction that can be visited on a day trip from Cancun or anywhere in the Mayan Riviera. On a visit to Xcaret you can see a Mayan archaeological site, learn about the area's flora, fauna, and Mayan culture, as well as enjoy lots of water activities such as swimming in an underground river.
Location:

Xcaret is located 35 miles south of the Cancun airport, and 4 miles south of Playa del Carmen. The address is: Highway Pto. Juárez - Chetumal km 282 Solidaridad, Quintana Roo.

Hours:

Xcaret is open from 8:30 am to 9 pm during the winter season and from 8:30 am to 10 pm during the summer season. Xcaret is open every day of the year. There is a lot to see and do at Xcaret so if you want to take full advantage of your day and the activities offered, plan to get there early.

Admission:

The basic admission fee to the Xcaret park is $69 USD for adults and $34.50 USD for children (subject to change). The basic admission fee includes access to the Park, some water activities, exhibits, and performances. You can also purchase a package that may include transportation, meals or swimming with dolphins. There is also a two-day pass available, which allows you to return to the park for half the price any day within a week of your first visit. Getting There:

You can get a bus to Xcaret from Cancun or Playa del Carmen. The bus from Cancun leaves from the Xcaret bus terminal at Blvd. Kukulcán Km.8.5, in the Hotel Zone. Phone: (998) 883-3143 and 883-3144. The bus from Playa del Carmen leaves from the base located near the dock at Plaza Marina Mall #41 and 42, Centro Muelle. Phone: (984) 879-3077 and 873-2643.

There are package tours that you can purchase from tour companies that will pick you up at your hotel and take you to Xcaret for the day.

Take With You:

When you visit Xcaret, you should wear comfortable shoes and take a bathing suit, change of clothes, a towel, and a camera. Conventional sunblock is not permitted because it can be damaging to the water ecology. You will be given a sample of 100% biodegradable sunblock on admission to Xcaret.
