The Basilica of Guadalupe in Mexico City is one of the most visited churches in the world. It is built on Tepeyac hill where the Virgin Mary appeared to Juan Diego in 1531. On a visit to "La Villa de Guadalupe" you can visit the Old Basilica, built between 1695 and 1709, and the New Basilica which was built in the 1970s and houses the image of the Virgin of Guadalupe, Mexico's patron saint.
