Sopa de Lima, or lime soup, is one of the most famous and ubiquitous dishes found throughout Mexico’s Yucatan Peninsula.
Sopa de Lima is a broth-like hot soup made from chicken stock and lime, and filled with chunks of chicken (this is sometimes substituted with turkey) and torn pieces of fried tortilla.
It is sometimes sprinkled with cilantro and tomatoes, and extra lime or chili can be added.
