Passion Play Photos
A Semana Santa Tradition in Mexico

From Suzanne Barbezat, About.com

There are many special traditions that take place in Mexico during the week leading up to Easter, Semana Santa (Holy Week). One of the most popular ways to mark this religious holiday is to stage Passion Plays, dramatic re-enactments of the events leading up to Jesus' death.

These photos of a Passion Play were taken on Good Friday in a small town outside of Oaxaca City.
