8 Oriente, corner of 6 Norte.

Puebla's Teatro Principal, completed in 1760, is among the oldest theaters in Mexico, and is the oldest which is still functioning as a theater. It was originally called the "comedy corral" and sometimes also referred to as the "coliseum" because of its circular base. In the early 1900s it was damaged in a fire and was restored in the 1930s. The interior can be visited between 10 a.m. and 5 p.m. when the theater is not in use.

Next stop on the walking tour: the Barrio del Artista (Artists' neighborhood).

Directions: Walk south on 8 Norte, you will be walking through the Barrio del Artista.
