Mexico Verde is an adventure resort located in the small town of Jalcomulco, Veracruz. This area of Mexico has ideal conditions for white water rafting, and Mexico Verde has been leading rafting trips since 1989, as well as offering a variety of other adventure activities. Guests at Mexico Verde stay in tents but enjoy all the creature comforts, including a comfortable bed, electric lights, running water and flush toilets.

Location: The small town of Jalcomulco in the state of Veracruz is Mexico's white water rafting capital. Jalcomulco is an hour and a half drive north of the city of Veracruz, and 45 minutes south of the state capital, Jalapa.

Base Camp Facilities: Mexico Verde's base camp is on a 5 hectare property with three restaurants and a bar, a swimming pool, a challenging obstacle course, climbing wall, giant swing, and a temazcal. Mexico Verde specializes in white water rafting on the nearby Río Antiguo. Other activities that guests at Mexico Verde can enjoy include kayaking, rappel, mountain biking, zip-lining and canyoneering.

I spent two nights at Mexico Verde in September 2012 as part of a fam trip that was offered to select members of the press and travel industry professionals who were attending ATMEX, an adventure travel trade show held in Veracruz.
