From Suzanne Barbezat, About.com

Located a few kilometres east of the capital of Chiapas, Tuxtla Gutierrez, the Sumidero Canyon (Cañon del Sumidero in Spanish), has 800 meter-high walls (2,600 feet) and lots of natural life. You can admire the canyon from one of the look-out points (miradores), or take a boat ride and see the canyon and some of its wildlife up-close.

The Sumidero Canyon in Chiapas is a nominee for the new 7 Wonders of Nature. Vote for the Sumidero Canyon: vote now.
