Xcaret, an eco-archaeological theme park on the Riviera Maya near Playa del Carmen, is a great place to spend a day. The park stretches over 250 acres and offers a wide variety of activities and attractions. The park is well-executed: it's attractive and interesting, and offers educational and entertaining things to do. On a visit to Xcaret you can see a Mayan archaeological site, learn about the area's flora and fauna, get a glimpse at Mayan culture and history, as well as enjoy lots of water activities like snorkeling and swimming in an underground river.
