Mexican Cuisine Recognized by UNESCO

The UNESCO committee for the Safeguarding of Intangible Cultural Heritage has inscribed Mexican Cuisine on the list of the Intangible Cultural Heritage of Humanity. At a meeting in Nairobi, the committee added 46 new cultural elements to the list, including three aspects of Mexican culture, French gastronomy, Peking Opera and Spanish Flamenco.

There are now a total of six elements of Mexican culture which have been recognized by UNESCO as Intangible Cultural Heritage, as well as 31 sites in Mexico which have been inscribed on the World Heritage Sites list. Read more about heritage of humanity in Mexico:
