Posadas: A Mexican Christmas Tradition

Wednesday December 16, 2009
The Mexican Christmas season kicks off tonight with the first posada. We're looking forward to nine nights of processions and parties leading up to Noche Buena, Christmas Eve. These processions reenact Mary and Joseph's search for shelter in Bethlehem, and are a great way of getting into the Christmas spirit. We'll be enjoying breaking piņatas and eating goodies like tamales and drinking atole and ponche!

Read more about posadas, and other Mexican Christmas traditions.
