Train Travel Around the World

Wednesday June 24, 2009
Train travel seems to be the least stressful mode of transportation. There's something soothing about the constant motion of a train - you don't have to suffer through turbulence or the constant stops and starts of travel by bus or car. Another advantage of train travel is you're not confined to your seat - you can stand up and walk around, stretch your legs.

Unfortunately, in Mexico most passenger trains stopped running in the 1990s. Now most long-distance travel through Mexico is done by bus or plane. One of the very few areas that you can still traverse in Mexico by train is the Copper Canyon.

Although opportunities for train travel in Mexico are few, there are, of course, many trains you can ride in the rest of the world. About.com's Guide to Honeymoons and Romantic Travel, Susan Breslow Sardone, has put together a blog carnival of train travel information and experiences, so you can discover the delights of train travel around the world. Read "Tracks:" A Train Travel Blog Carnival.
