Tropical Storm Andres Off Mexico's Pacific Coast

Tuesday June 23, 2009
The first named tropical storm of the season, Andres, dumped rain on Acapulco yesterday and is expected to strengthen into a hurricane today. There is a a hurricane warning in effect for the southwestern coast of Mexico, from Punta San Telmo, Michoacan, to Cabo Corrientes in the state of Jalisco. A hurricane warning means that hurricane conditions are expected within 24 hours. Andres may hit Los Cabos later in the week.

You can monitor the progress of Tropical Storm Andres on the National Hurricane Center website, and see our tips for hurricane season travel to Mexico.
