Changing Your Mexico Travel Plans
According to our swine flu Mexico travel poll, 33% of respondents are waiting to see what happens with the swine flu outbreak before they make a final decision about whether to go to Mexico or not.
Many people say they're not worried about swine flu and they would travel to Mexico anyway, though with recent developments, it may not be a great time to visit (museums, churches and archaeological sites are all closed for the time being - though beaches are, of course, accessible and nearly empty). Many governments have put out travel advisories and warnings against travel to Mexico, but the World Health Organization still maintains that travel restrictions and border closures are not the solution to the swine flu epidemic.
If you have the luxury of being able to hold off before changing your travel plans, that's great - the swine flu epidemic will hopefully fade out soon - but if you need to cancel or change your Mexico travel plans, you'll find all the information and resources you need here at About.com.
About.com's Guide to Family Travel, Teresa Plowright, has done a lot of research on the travel refund policies of resorts in Mexico and she offers up great information about swine flu travel refunds.
If you're worried about whether your travel insurance policy covers swine flu claims, Nancy Parode, About.com Guide to Senior Travel discusses the topic here: Will Your Travel Insurance Policy Cover Swine Flu Claims?
Anitra Brown, About.com Guide to Spas says she would feel comfortable driving across the border to a spa in Mexico but probably wouldn't want to get on a plane to Mexico at this time. Read more about swine flu and spas in Mexico .
About.com's Guide to Air Travel, Arlene Fleming, has covered airline policies dealing with cancelations and rebooking due to the swine flu outbreak. See Flying to Mexico and Swine Flu.
