Dalai Lama's Trip to Mexico Canceled

The Dalai Lama's trip to Mexico that was planned for September has been canceled due to health problems. According to a notice posted on the Casa Tibet Mexico Web Site, the spiritual leader, who is 73 years old, is suffering from exhaustion due to his intensive travel schedule, and will be returning to India to rest and undergo medical tests.
The Buddhist teachings scheduled to take place in Mexico City's Teatro Metropolitana on September 8, 9 and 10 will go on according to plan, but with a different Tibetan Buddhist teacher filling in for the ailing Dalai Lama.
