The National Museum of Anthropology in Mexico City

Tuesday June 3, 2008
One of Mexico's most spectacular museums is located in Mexico City. The National Museum of Anthropology, (Museo Nacional de Antropologia), contains the world's largest collection of Pre-Hispanic Mexican art and also contains ethnographic exhibits about Mexico's present-day indigenous groups. Undoubtedly the most famous piece in the museum is the Aztec Calendar or "Sun Stone" (pictured), which is over three meters in diameter, but it's only one of the spectacular pieces on display.

The National Museum of Anthropology is one of the top Mexico City sights you shouldn't miss.
