July 6th marks the 100 year anniversary of Mexican artist Frida Kahlo's birth. There are several events going on in Mexico City to commemorate the date. A retrospective of her work is on display in the Palacio de Bellas Artes until August 19. This is the largest comprehensive exhibit of Kahlo's work ever, with a total of 354 pieces, including paintings, drawings, sketches and personal letters. There will also be a special exhibit in the Museo Frida Kahlo of letters written to Frida by her husband, Diego Rivera.
