Name That Fruit

Friday October 27, 2006
One of the things I love about Mexico is the abundance of fresh fruit. Pineapples, mangoes and papayas when they're ripe and really fresh - delicious! But often when walking through markets in Mexico I come across fruit that I had never seen before coming to Mexico. The fruit pictured here is one of them.

This fruit is in season now and is often placed on Day of the Dead altars. Are you familiar with it? Click on "comments" below and let me know. Click on the photo to see a larger-size image and the name of the fruit.

Well, you’re lucky to get them. I’m from Canada and had never seen them before coming to Mexico. Now I get to eat lots of great fruit that I never knew before. :-)
