Morelia's International Film Festival Kicks Off Today
Saturday October 14, 2006
Now in its fourth year, Morelia's International Film Festival is taking place this week. Martin Scorcese's The Departed, Francoise Ozon's El tiempo que resta, and Abel Ferrara's Mary (Grand Prix winner at the Venice Film Festival) are a few of the films that will be screened at this year's festival. Special guests will include Guillermo del Toro, attending the Mexican premiere of his film, El laberinto del Fauno, and Diego Luna, who will present his latest feature, Fade to Black. Audiences will have a chance to participate in question and answer sessions with the actors and filmmakers who will be present at the screenings. There will be some free open-air screenings and the general public is welcome at conferences, round tables, exhibits and other events.
Morelia is a beautiful colonial city, the capital of Michoacan state, and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
