New Security Measures
Friday August 11, 2006
Following reports of a foiled terrorist attempt to destroy planes flying between the United Kingdom and the United States, travelers flying to or from the US or the UK will be subjected to restrictions for carry-on luggage. Liquids, gels, creams and lotions will need to be checked, with exceptions being made only for prescription medicine and baby formula. Travelers from Mexico to other destinations are undergoing strict security checks and searches, however at present they are allowed to carry liquids on board with them.
These new security measures may be in place for the long term, so pack accordingly. You may want to consider securing your checked baggage.
- New security measures for air travel
- Hard camera and computer cases that can serve as carry-on or checked baggage
- Securing your checked luggage to protect your valuables
